Antoine Griezmann extends his stay at Atletico until 2022.
Atletico Madrid has give a huge raise in wages for their most valuable asset Antoine Griezmann.
The forward is expected to earn £235,000-a-week.
Only Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi and Neymar is earning more than him in La Liga.
Although Griezmann has gained huge pay check, his buyout clause remains at £88 million which means Man United could still make the same offer they made if they wish to make a bid next summer.
The frenchman has been heavily linked with United and even said during a TV show that there are 60% chances of him going to Manchester.
That rumours make Atletico fans abit worried but now is all good as their favourite player will remain in the team going into the new season in a new stadium as well.
One of the reason Atletico can afford the huge pay raise to Griezmann is because of the transfer ban that does not allow the club to purchase any player until next year.
Which means, the club would rather put all the money available to keep their star player.
Atletico Madrid is also looking to get Diego Costa on a cut price although the striker is not allow to play until January 2018 due to the ban.
Costa has reportedly saying he is willing to be loan out to other club until 2018 to seal his dream return to Atletico.
