Messi shines but did not score thanks to the goal post.

After a rough week for the city of Barcelona, Messi and his team pays a special tribute to the victims with a custom Barcelona jersey.

The players name on the back are replaced with the name of the city to pay respects for the heartbreaking news last week.

Barcelona are without Suarez due to injury and Messi who captained the side will have to captained and lead the team himself.

It was a convincing performance from the Catalans. A much better performance when they play against Real Madrid in both legs of Spanish Super Cup.

Nelson Semedo made his league home debut for Barcelona on the right back position where he had a 100% passing rate in the first half and put on a great performance through out the game.

Messi tried everything he could to open his account for the season and had plenty of effort on goals.

Three of his effort came off the woodwork. First one was from a free kick, second from a great solo run and third one came from a long range shot.

Barcelona lead through an own goal after a cross into the box was deflected by Real Betis defender. The goal was initially thought to be from Messi deflection but replay showed that he did not make any contact with the ball.

Second goal was scored 3 minutes after the first goal by Sergi Roberto after brilliant work by Gerard Deulofeu.

Madrid wins 3-0, Ramos got sent off

Real Madrid was without the suspended Ronaldo but run off convincingly with a 3-0 away win against Deportivo.

Deportivo had couple of great chances early in the game but was kept off by the brilliant Keylor Navas.

Bale starts the La Liga campaign with a tap in goal and provided an assist to Toni Kross for their third goal.

Casemiro scored the second goal and the result will certainly please coach Zinedine Zidane after a great start from their opening match.

The only bad point from Real Madrid’s game is when their captain Sergio Ramos got sent off late into stoppage time after getting his second yellow card of the game.

ramos sent off

The defender plays a huge figure and should lead by good example as a captain but he could not keep his composure and put himself in getting sent off again.

Ramos is known for his crazy antics and dirty tackles throughout his career but he should put the team ahead of himself knowing that their star player Cristiano Ronaldo are suspended for 5 matches and could not afford to lose any more player.

Both the Spanish giants off to a great start in the opening fixtures but are a bit rusty.

Real are without Ronaldo, and Barcelona are without Suarez and the out gone Neymar.

The transfer market is still open and Barcelona is yet to sign their replacement for Neymar.

The Catalan can’t afford to fail their move for Coutinho as the quality of their players are below par than their rivals Real Madrid.

It will be interesting in the next coming weeks!
