Mourinho: “Matic Is My Type Of Player”

Nemanja Matic is of the underrated defensive midfielders in the Premier League.

His lack of unique individual technical abilities makes him look like any other midfielders.

But, Jose Mourinho loves him.

United have finally confirmed the signing of Nemanja Matic from Chelsea on a three year deal worth £40 million with an option to extend.

The midfielder was left out of Chelsea’s pre-season tour and made to train in London with Hazard who was injured, to complete a move away from Stamford Bridge.

Great defensive skills, passing abilities, tall build but his defensive partner Kante stole the show last season with PFA award as well.

Matic made his name under Mourinho spell at Chelsea and is delighted to have reunited with the Red Devils manager again.

“I am delighted and very happy to have join United” said Matic.

He also added that he could not turn down another chance of working under Mourinho yet again.

The manager is delighted with the signing of course after claiming that the Serbian wanted to move to United “very very much”.

Mourinho described him as “United kind of player and Jose Mourinho kind of player”.

The Manchester United manager is known to love good defensive midfielders in every of his club that he managed.

Porto, Chelsea, Inter Milan, Real Madrid and now United. There is for sure a defensive midfielder that has a similar ability like Matic.

Always been criticized for defensive football, Mourinho always treasure players that put in great work rate. That’s his managing style.

Even Hazard was told to fall back during his Chelsea spell to help out the full backs.

Fellaini is now considering his future after Matic arrival but Mourinho insisted that the Belgian is too important to be sold.

The new United midfielder will be wearing the No.31 jersey who was formerly worn by Bastian Schweinsteiger who is now playing in MLS.
