Ronaldo becomes the first player to win the award three times.
Cristiano Ronaldo was crowned the UEFA Best Player award for 2017 for a record three times ahead of Lionel Messi and Gianluigi Buffon.
The veteran goalkeeper sat in between Ronaldo and Messi during the ceremony and was teased by the Portuguese during a mid ceremony interview.
When Ronaldo was asked to pick the best goal that he scored last season, he choses the goal against Buffon in the Champions League final which brings laughter and smile from the Juventus goalkeeper.
The Real Madrid star player won the award by a huge different in votes with 482 points with Messi and Buffon have 141 and 109 votes respectively.
He also won the UEFA Forward of The Year after 42 goals in 46 appearances last season where 12 goals came from Champions League.
Not suprisingly though as he play a huge part in making Real Madrid and Zinedine Zidane to be the first ever team and coach to win a Champions League back to back.
After his winning speech, he shook the hand of his two rivals before getting back to his seat. No hard feelings there!
The Portugal captain is currently serving his 5 match ban and is expected to return in September but already scored two brilliant goals before the ban.
One against Barcelona in the Spanish Super Cup and one against Deportivo in the Bernabeu Cup.
Messi has to do something incredible this season to outplay his rival as Ronaldo is simply getting better and sharper after every season and does not look like a going-to-be retiring player in his 30s.
