Wenger is confident Sanchez will honor his contract and could possible extend contract.
Arsenal started their pre-season your in Sydney, Australia and the first question that Wenger gets during press conference is of course about Alexis Sanchez.
When asked about Sanchez situation, Wenger said “He is in the final year of his contract and we expect them to respect it”.
He also added that although he may not sign a contract extension yet, that does not mean he is leaving at the end of next season.
Wenger is confident that Alexis could sign at the start of the season or before the end of next season. That is only if Arsenal are doing very well in domestic competitions we guess. Tough task.
Speaking of Olivier Giroud, Wenger shuts down Everton on signing the forward by insisting that Giroud will stay and fight for his place with club record signing, Alexandre Lacazette.
Giroud extended his contract with the club last January and does not hide his love for Arsenal although less playing time could change his mind in order to get a spot in France squad next year for the World Cup in Russia which Lacazette will be competed in as well.
Thomas Lemar is also another player that are heavily speculated with the club.
“Nothing is concrete yet, but he is a player that we are looking at” Wenger said.
Lacazette is in the squad travelling to Sydney for two legged friendlies in Australia tour while Alexis Sanchez is still on holiday.
