Kolasinac played as a left-back for Schalke and has previously attracted interest other top clubs in Europe.

Chelsea reported failed their bid last January with Juventus, AC Milan, Manchester City, Liverpool and Everton are interested in capturing the defender.

In the end, Arsene Wenger who also has been monitoring the progress of Kolasinac, manage to fight off fierce competition to capture the signature of the left-back.

Interviewed for first time as an Arsenal player, Kolasinac said that he is very pleased to sign a 5 year contract and is happy to be able to sign for Arsenal.

Every Arsenal signings have their idol in the club and no surprise, Kolasinac has look up to Jens Lehmann and Thierry Henry when he was just a young boy.

Jens Lehmann used to play for Schalke too and his goalkeeping skills manage to captivate the interest of Kolasinac and follow his career journey to Arsenal and end up being part of “The Invincibles”.

Kolasinac is wanted by many clubs because of his style of play and his work rate and not afraid to pull of a tackle and not shy away from challenges.

He will be competing with Nacho Monreal and Kieran Gibbs for starting place but Gibbs are rumoured to be leaving.

Arsene Wenger told the fans recently not too expect too much of signings by predicting a maximum of two to three of new signings as even though they have the capital to spend, he will only bring in those that will bring benefits to the team.

Giroud, who in on duty with France for their World Cup qualifier against Sweden, welcomes new signing but give a stern warning that he would leave unless he gets more playing time.

Let’s hope Kolasinac will have a wonderful debut season with the Gunners and hopefully be able to achieve great accomplishment by helping the club compete for trophies.
